Can 1 Month T-Bills at auction be reinvested automatically like you can at Treasury Direct com?

Here’s a summary of the main problem and solutions discussed in the conversation:

  • Main Problem: The user, jce, wants to know if they can automatically reinvest 1 Month T-Bills purchased on Fidelity.com, similar to the option available on TreasuryDirect.com.
  • Solution 1: It is confirmed that Fidelity offers an autoroll option when previewing the purchase of T-Bills.
  • Solution 2: Fidelity’s Auto Roll service allows users to automatically reinvest the proceeds of maturing U.S. Treasury securities and CDs into new positions that meet their criteria.

Overall, jce is able to utilize Fidelity’s services for automatic reinvestment of T-Bills.

At Treasury Direct dot com, I can participate in the Auction that will occur on Tuesday and when I purchase a 1 Month TBILL, I can auto reinvest that money for several months. Can I do the sam at Fidelity.com. I would rather purchase the 1 Month T-Bills on Fidelity’s website rather than TreasuryDirect.com and have them reinvested monthly, but If I can’t reinvest the money automatically; then, I will have to do that at TreasuryDirect.com. Please advise.

Good afternoon, and I see you have already gotten your question answered! To expand further on this, you can set up the Auto Roll service here at Fidelity. This service allows you to purchase eligible U.S. Treasury securities and CDs and arrange for the proceeds of the principal to be used to automatically purchase a new position that meets your criteria once your first position has reached maturity. You can learn more about this feature via the link below: Fidelity Auto Roll Service: https://www.fidelity.com/fixed-income-bonds/fixed-income-tools-services/auto-roll-program If you have any other questions, please let us know! 🟢
