I want to get a laptop for school, but the laptopi that have the adequate specs i need are labeled as ‘gaming.’ Would it be an acceptable expense that I could use my 529 plan on? I plan to do schoolwork for most of the time and occasionally game like on the weekends or something.

I’m pretty sure yes, but you should ask your school/counsler.

Great question, @Shino. Money withdrawn from the 529 plan account can be used for a wide range of qualified higher education expenses, such as room and board, tuition, books, and computer equipment. Refer to your enrollment kit for a full list of expenses covered by your state’s plan. You can also give our 529 team a call to discuss.
