I left my job in May of 2023 after 5 years. In those previous years my employer paid us are SEP IrA by March 15th. When it came around this year (2023) they filed an extension and told us they would pay them out by September 15th. So, my question is since this Sep ira check is for 2022. Is my employer still required to give me a check even though I left in May of 2023? Thanks.

Hi @William M Phillips, thanks for reaching out. An employer must contribute on behalf of all employees who meet the eligibility requirements during the contribution year, including those who have separated from service. That said, we are not in a position to enforce the payment. So, it’s best to work with your employer on how to receive this payment.
