Fidelity account showing Uncollected Deposit

Summary of User’s Issue and Solutions Discussed:

  • The main problem reported by the user is confusion regarding a $15K Uncollected Deposit from a $20K deposit, which is restricting their available cash and not clearly displayed in the Fidelity interface.
  • Fidelity informed the user that certain deposit methods have a collection period, typically taking 2 to 6 business days for funds to be fully available.
  • Users can avoid collection periods by using bank wires and direct deposits, which are fully collected upon receipt.
  • For tracking deposit statuses, users can check the “Balances” tab on Fidelity’s website or mobile app to see pending deposits and expected collection dates.
  • The user can set alerts for account events by using an alert feature available after logging in to their Fidelity account.
  • Fidelity recommended contacting their customer service for further assistance regarding the user’s specific situation.

I made a deposit of 20K that cleared the 17th last Wednesday in my back and in the fidelity interface no showing the pending deposit, on Friday I made a stock purchase around 8K having a portfolio below 7K value and at 4 I got a Fed call Appeared in my balance, I sold some stock to clear it. Looked around to find why? then I saw the entry of Uncollected Deposit with 15K of the 20K. This is confusing since Uncollected Deposit I found it on the Active Trader Pro. and haven’t seen it on the web and android app and it seams important since it is restricting the total cash I have. I have the following questions: – Who is holding the Uncollected Deposit amount, my bank fidelity’s bank, what entity is in position of the money? – The money under Uncollected Deposit when will it be credited to my account ? – Where can I find Uncollected Deposit value in the web and android app? – for the Fed Call is there a way I can get an alert on the app to notify me or keep me informed in a better way on these types of events? In the android app, I looked under account – activity – pending transaction the see the state of my deposit and when it disappeared I believed all my deposit was credited to my account, For clarity I suggest the Uncollected Deposit amount shows as a pending transaction (the amount not deposited yet) for the account since I found no way to know what happened in my account from the app. and since I was keeping track of my deposit status from there.

Probably the FTC or some government agency is my guess. Probably when it is cleared. They need to make sure that big deposits are clear and not stolen or anything. You probably can’t. I doubt it as most people don’t deposit such large amounts of money.

Thanks for reaching out to us here on Discord. When you deposit funds to your Fidelity accounts, some methods have a collection period. During the collection period, the funds are not available to withdraw from the account; however, Fidelity allows clients to place trades for most securities online with uncollected funds immediately, subject to security type and up to certain dollar limits. To review collection timeframes, electronic funds transfers (EFT) can take 2 to 6 business days to fully collect, and check deposit collection periods can vary. Still, most are fully collected within 2-6 business days. Please note this does not include weekends or holidays. If you wish to avoid collection periods, bank wires and direct deposits are fully collected upon receipt. You can learn more about deposit methods below: Depositing Money Into Fidelity: https://www.fidelity.com/customer-service/deposit-money You can see precisely when your deposit is expected to be collected on the “Balances” tab of Fidelity.com or the Fidelity mobile app. Below the “Available to withdraw” section, you’ll see the pending deposit with the expected collection date.
