How I Resolved Issues Linking My Bank to Fidelity App

Summary of Issues and Solutions:

  • The user is unable to transfer money after linking their bank account to the Fidelity app, as the account is not showing as available for transfers.
  • To resolve this, the user may need to verify their bank account ownership through the Early Warning System (EWS), which is a consumer-reporting agency.
  • If the bank does not participate with EWS, the user might have to verify micro-deposits to complete the linking process.
  • The user will receive an alert in the Fidelity Message Center to enter the micro-deposit amounts, which can take up to 3 business days to appear.
  • The user has 7 calendar days to confirm the micro-deposits on Fidelity.com once they appear.

I had issues being able to link my bank with the fidelity app and transfer money. I would be able to link the account but when going to transfer the money my bank account isn’t showing as an available account to transfer money into the app. Idk what to do?

Hi there, @FBYFCorgz. Your bank account may need to be verified before you can transfer money. To elaborate, when you link a bank account you own to your Fidelity account in order to request Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT), your account ownership will generally be verified through the Early Warning System (EWS). EWS is a consumer-reporting agency that helps institutions validate a client’s banking history. However, if the bank is not validated with EWS or your bank does not participate, you may be directed to verify micro-deposits to complete the linking process. In the event you have to verify your bank via micro-deposit, you’ll receive an alert in your Message Center on Fidelity.com with a link that takes you directly to the page to enter these deposit amounts. You can also access the “Transfers” page on our website, then go to “Manage bank accounts” to manage your bank information, including pending bank accounts. The pending bank account will have the ability to verify micro deposits displayed. You’ll then need to view your bank account activity to find the micro-deposit amounts to enter here. Keep in mind it can take up to 3 business days for the microdeposits to appear, and you’ll have 7 calendar days to confirm them on Fidelity.com If there is anything we can clarify or if additional questions pop up, please don’t hesitate to ask! We’re always happy to help. 🟢
