Inquiring About Good Faith Violation Features and Tracking

  • Main Problem: The user is not receiving good faith violation reminders or warnings in the app and is unsure if this feature has been removed.
  • Solution 1: Warnings or reminders can be found on the preview order screen of an order ticket in the app.
  • Solution 2: The user can check their good faith violation (GFV) counter by scrolling to the bottom of the “Balances” tab on their Fidelity trading profile on Fidelity.com.
  • Solution 3: Using margin trading allows for trading of unsettled proceeds without encountering cash trading restrictions or potential good faith violations.

I dont seem to be getting good faith violation reminders / warnings anymore in the app anymore… did fidelity remove this feature? Also, how do you check your good faith violation counter? (And does enabling margin trading essentially nullify good faith violations?)

Hi there @CrashNoctis. Warnings or reminders will show on the preview order screen of an order ticket on the app. Additionally, you can view a Good Faith Violation (GFV) counter on your trading profile on Fidelity.com by scrolling to the bottom of your “Balances” tab. Additionally, GFV apply to cash account trading. Using the margin feature allows for trading of unsettled proceeds in most securities without running into cash trading restrictions or potential good faith violations.
