When I try to buy a stock in extended-hours, I can only see the Limit order type. Same thing if I try to sell. Why can’t I see the rest of the order types (including Market) during extended hours? Thanks.

Hi, @MLG. During extended-hours trading (EHT) you can only place limit orders that are good for the session in which they are placed during pre-market and after-hours trading. If you place an order that doesn’t execute during the session, your order will be canceled prior to the market opening. This is because there are unique risks, such as price volatility, that tend to be much higher compared to normal market hours. During extended trading hours, Fidelity will accept premarket orders from 7:00 a.m. to 9:28 a.m. ET, and you can place after-hours orders from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET.
