Trouble With Withdrawing My Funds from Fidelity Account

Summary:

  • The user is unable to withdraw funds from their investment account because the transfer page does not display any accounts, only an ‘Other Methods’ section.
  • To resolve the issue, it is suggested that the user link an external bank account through Fidelity.com by going to “Accounts & Trade,” selecting “Transfers,” and then “Manage bank accounts.”
  • If the user encounters an error stating their Fidelity account is ineligible for linking, they should contact the Stock Plan Service (SPS) team for further assistance.
  • The SPS team is available continuously from Sunday 5:00 p.m. to Friday midnight ET and can be reached through a provided link.

I have an individual investment account with some money from selling shares accumulated from an employee stock purchase plan, the funds are available to withdraw as shown on the balances tab of the account. On the transfer page, it asks to select which account I want to move money from, but the dropdown does not show any accounts and only has the ‘Other Methods’ section, so I am not sure how to withdraw the money.

We appreciate you reaching out, @hub. We’re sorry to hear that you are experiencing trouble with making a withdrawal. You are generally able to withdraw funds that are fully settled and show in your “Cash Available to Withdraw” balance if you have linked an external bank account. To link an outside bank account, please follow these steps on Fidelity.com (Login required): 1. Under “Accounts & Trade,” select “Transfers” 2. Go to “Manage bank accounts” 3. Click “Link a new bank or recipient” When you’re ready to transfer the funds, the link below gives you the choice of bank wire, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), and more. Keep in mind that while Fidelity does not charge a fee for these transfer methods, some banks might. Unfortunately these steps did not help, the manage bank accounts page just displays “Unfortunately, your current Fidelity account(s) are ineligible for linking to a bank”. I am not sure if this has something to do with the fact that my workplace is mixed into this but this is quickly becoming very frustrating…
